Many times during the dholki/wedding period, we get so caught up in worldly affairs that we forget about the One who gave all of this to us - the One who allowed all of this happen - and the one who bestowed Happiness and showered his Love and Mercy on all of us. We must remind ourselves and others to continuously remember Allah in the times of happiness as well as in the time of need. Keeping this in mind, it is a common trend now (Alhamdulillah) to have a dars (lesson) at these functions. You can find someone who is knowledgeble about Islam to come and give a small talk on a topic pertinent to you so that there is barakah (barkat, blessings) at the event.
